Ok As you can see by her Picture, Lisa is not the ordinary person. Some may see her as a "Strange Bird." But Lisa's love for music is serious business (well some of the time!) Lisa was born in New Jersey (Exit 18) and moved to Florida when she was 11. Her Father being a musician, and her mother a singer, she decided when she was in 3rd grade that her sister was getting better than her at learning the piano. So, with her father's help, she decided to pick up the drums as her main instrument. Her mother, (who was so thrilled with all the noise Lisa was creating in the house...right!) had no choice but to encourage her to be the best she can be! The Weintraub Family performed concerts at Herbert Hoover Elementary School each year. Her first band appropriately named "Kid Power" was only a glimps of what was yet to come. Being a girl drummer who could sing was always a novelty everywhere she went. But it all paid off in High School where she studied hard on her vocal abilities and was involved in every aspect of her High School's Choral Dept. She was even the student conductor of the Concert Chorus during her junior and senior years, and received Superiors in competitions as a classical soloist and with the choral ensemble! After graduating, it was time to be welcomed to the REAL WORLD, where all bets were off! After touring Europe with the United States Girls Chorus, Lisa found she needed to follow her heart and become a full time musician. (she did keep her day job as a bank teller, and amazingly balanced her drawer each day after partying....ahem...she means performing....each night!) Accompanied by her sister on keyboards (see, she did get better than her!) the band "Charisma" was born. Starting off at first as a duo and then broadening into a 5 peice band, Lisa toured Florida and performed at local bars and clubs. A life not for the faint of heart. In 1989, Lisa married a bartender and became a wife and then a mother in 1992. Her daughter, Cassi, is the light of Lisa's eye and you will no doubt see Cassi with her mom at many rehearsals and shows. Lisa constantly says that her daughter is her best coach! (Wouldn't you be a good coach if you sat thru all those BBS shows and coachings, etc? Cassi is also in the gifted program at school and is a straight "A" student!) In 2002, Lisa was Divorced (So if you know of any nice single guys that like BBS music, please give him Lisa's E-mail address!!!!) Tracking back a few years, it was in 1998 when another obsessed barbershopper was born! The first time Lisa walked into an open house for a local Sweet Adelines Chapter she was hooked and knew that God had sent her there for a reason (keep reading, you will see the reason!) A customer at the bank that she worked at (soon to become a new S.A.friend) Sue had been nagging...ahem... asking her to go to a chorus for a long time! Lisa has learned so much from Region 9 and everyone she has met along the way. Not only about vocal production, but about life! Being apart of a Quartet only expanded that knowlege (Twilitezone 1999-2002, and now Sensation 2002 - hopefully a long time!) And now being under the Direction of Joe Connelly with the Toast of Tampa Show Chorus has been a challenge on many levels, as well as one of the best choices Lisa has ever made. To work with such awesome people in a positive, fun, hard-working atmosphere.... who could ask for anything more life-satisfying! Through her friend Camille that she met thru S.A., Lisa has become extremely active in her church, Christ Church in Lutz. (see God sends you to places for a reason!) Lisa is the drummer in the praise band, vocalist with the choir and actively participates in the organization and growth of this newly formed church. Just ask Lisa about the new building for which they are breaking ground for this summer (she is on the building committee.) There is no shortness of excitement in this growing church community! If you see her, let her tell you about Karaoke night that Lisa runs at the church every few months! She says there is nothing better than giving of your talents to God! (since He is the one who has blessed those talents upon her in the first place!) Now that you have way too much info on Lisa, know that she lives to make people smile, and continually tries to use a positive attitude in everything she does, with God's help!
Oh yea, by the way, Lisa's day job now is a school crossing guard....Now imagine that!
